Using iPEC’s proprietary tool, the Energy Leadership   Index (ELI) Assessment, we measure how our clients perceive and approach work and life. Sharon McIntosh

Sharon is president and founder of And Then Communications.


An entrepreneur with Fortune 500 credentials, she shares her passion for creating and executing new ideas to drive executive communications, employee engagement and change management communications with her clients. Clients have included AbbVie, Clarios, Eversource, Intercontinental Hotel Group, Otis Elevator, Raytheon Technologies, Toyota, Under Armour and United Technologies.


Before launching And Then Communications, Sharon served as PepsiCo’s vice president of Global Internal Communications, overseeing the company’s efforts to connect with its more than 274,000 employees worldwide. She and her team launched a number of innovative employee initiatives, including the company’s first social media training (SMART U) and PepsiCo’s award-winning employee ambassador program.


Before joining PepsiCo, Sharon worked at Sears and Waste Management in various communications capacities, including media relations, speechwriting and corporate communications. She holds a master’s degree in leadership communications from DePaul University.


Committed to personal growth and learning, Sharon earned her Prosci accreditation in 2019, completed her iPEC coaching certification in 2021 and is an advisor to the Executive Communication Council.


She is constantly inspired by the best storyteller she knows, Norene McIntosh.

Laura Field

Laura is a communications consultant, business coach, writer and adjunct ethics professor.


She brings a unique blend of professional experience, keen insight and her trademark ability to cut to the chase—always with a laugh—to every project. She has a long track record of helping organizations and individuals thrive.


Clients have included Aldi, Johnson Controls, KPMG, S.C. Johnson & Sons and Whittman-Hart. Laura earned a B.A. in economics and journalism from Indiana University and a master’s degree in spirituality from Loyola University Chicago. She’s also a practicing spiritual director.

Shonda Serpan

Shonda is our invaluable assistant. Highly organized, efficient and always learning new skills, Shonda manages And Then Communications’ administrative tasks, allowing our consultants to focus on clients.


Clients have included Deloitte, United Airlines and The University of Chicago.


Shonda holds a B.A. in administration and management from MidAmerica Nazarene University.
